Kurt leads ArborMetrix in executing on its mission by setting the company strategy, and driving its progress by supporting strong team culture, transparent communication, and a growth mindset.
Kurt’s prior experience includes more than 25 years of founding and leading successful early- and growth-stage software ventures, targeting a variety of markets, including healthcare, automotive, aerospace, entertainment, and consumer products. In addition to his domestic and international operating roles, Kurt was Entrepreneur in Residence at RPM Ventures, a seed- and early-stage venture firm that invests in information technology, and he taught a course on entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan. Kurt holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), and he attended the Executive Education Program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Kurt currently serves on the board of directors of the PCPI, where he is co-chair of the National Quality Registries Network.
Steve is an experienced leader with nearly three decades of building great companies with exceptional teams and strong cultures. His experience includes business planning, financial management, fundraising, and operational development and execution.
Steve is responsible for overseeing ArborMetrix’s financial and business operations.
Prior to joining ArborMetrix, Steve served as CFO of HandyLab, a molecular diagnostic company where he guided the growth and venture financing of the company, ultimately resulting in its acquisition by Becton, Dickinson and Company (NYSE: BDX). Previously, Steve served as CFO of Ardesta, an industry accelerator dedicated to the development of microsystems and other small technologies. He was CFO of a life science products company through its period of rapid growth culminating in its acquisition. Early in his career he held financial management positions with several innovative technology and software companies. Steve was an audit manager at Ernst & Young and earned a BSBA in accounting from John Carroll University.
Chris provides leadership and expertise in the areas of data science and analytics that transform real-world data into real insights that our customers use to improve quality, advance research, and measure and optimize value.
Chris oversees the design, development, implementation, and refinement of measures, methods, and reports within the ArborMetrix platform, as well as the preparation of research and analysis for individual customers.
Chris has more than 20 years of experience in health services research, outcomes analysis, and software development. Prior to joining ArborMetrix, Chris was Executive Vice President at SCIO, where he was responsible for software development, delivery and sales, and the practice lead for analytics and actuarial services. Previously, he directed the informatics department at Health Dialog, managed the Data Center for the Department of Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and consulted for The Leapfrog Group. He holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Connecticut and a M.S. in epidemiology/biostatistics from Dartmouth.
Colin advances our mission to improve healthcare through data science by establishing and implementing the vision and roadmap for our platform and associated technologies and analytic systems. He serves as a liaison and expert across teams.
Colin ensures the platform meets the needs of the market and our customers. He brings extensive experience to the ArborMetrix team.
Colin has previously served as a consultant for health systems and provider organizations. He also served as Chief Technology Officer for SherTrack LLC, where he led the development, launch, and deployment of SaaS predictive analytics supply chain solutions. He has held numerous leadership roles in data analytics, technology, and software engineering, and has expertise in deploying enterprise software. Colin received his B.S.C. in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, his M.S.C. in Control Systems from the University of Cincinnati Structure Dynamics Research Laboratory, and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Michigan.
Spencer is an experienced physician-executive with a valuable perspective that helps him lead ArborMetrix in its delivery of healthcare analytics, clinical data registry, and post-market surveillance solutions.
Spencer provides strategic guidance to ArborMetrix’s customers and team to help them drive clinical quality improvement initiatives, advance research, and develop industry partnerships and commercialization opportunities.
Spencer earned his M.D. and M.B.A. at the University of Michigan, and completed residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Health System. Following residency, he completed subspecialty fellowship training in pain medicine at Johns Hopkins. He has experience in private medical practice, including founding a comprehensive sports medicine, spine, and pain management clinic. In addition to his clinical roles, Spencer has experience in medical device and pharmaceutical development, as well as life science venture capital.
Karishma has extensive academic and professional experience as a biostatistician and big data analyst.
Karishma is skilled in such statistical methods as big data modeling, univariate and multivariate analysis, machine learning models, predictive analytics, data mining, and data visualization. In addition to client-specific measure-authoring, she largely focuses on predictive analytics (static and real-time), financial forecasting and the development of new-generation analytics infrastructure.
Shannon brings a deep understanding of the market, its stakeholders, and its opportunities and challenges.
With more than 15 years of experience, Shannon has a strong, customer-focused attitude and an unmatched ability to bring our customers’ vision and goals to life through solutions designed to fully leverage our product suite and analytics. She oversees the innovation lab and strategic direction for our product suite.
Bradley has the experience, knowledge and passion to help our customers use our software and analytics to create impactful registries.
Bradley considers registries to be so much more than data - they are living, evolving, valuable resources that drive meaningful, measurable quality improvement.
He has more than a decade of experience implementing technology solutions for nonprofits, government agencies, and healthcare organizations to help extend their value. He is driven to find innovative and high-impact solutions to health care’s most intractable issues. Previously, Bradley served as a Senior Program Manager at ArborMetrix overseeing the design and implementation of numerous projects. Currently, he works with various medical societies to help address their technology needs. Bradley received his M.P.H. from Tufts University School of Medicine.
Joel leads our program management team and is responsible for customer relationship management and program success.
Joel's team serves as the primary day-to-day contact for the customer and manages all aspects of the customer’s solution from gathering and communicating requirements to coordinating internal resources to guiding program design and enhancements.
He has more than 20 years of experience in project and program management, and customer support for analytic solutions. Prior to joining ArborMetrix, in his 10 years with ForeSee, Joel ran a team of more than 100 customer representatives servicing more than 650 customer organizations including the National Institute of Health, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Joe is driven to deliver healthcare insights in collaboration with our customers by using technology, data, and our analytics platform.
As our Director of Solutions Delivery, Joe leads our Implementation and Delivery Teams whose processes combine thoughtful design and configuration of the ArborMetrix platform to meet the needs of each individual customer. He incorporates Agile methodologies into product delivery by inspecting and adapting to customer needs and focusing on delivering the most value for each user.
Joe’s career has spanned multiple industries within the technology space, from hardware design and digital control systems to software delivery.
Matt leads our Data Operations Team who are responsible for efficiently and flexibly getting data flowing into our customers’ solutions.
Matt oversees ETL design and development, data integration, modeling and architecture, governance, quality assurance, and database administration.
He and his team bring decades of experience and best practices in data governance and integration along with a mixture of healthcare-specific knowledge as epidemiologists and public health professionals, as well as big data storage and analysis experts. Matt is a highly skilled data analyst and software developer with experience in data cleaning, transformation, analysis, reporting, and visualization. He received his B.S. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Michigan – Dearborn; and his M.S. in Computer Science from Michigan State University.
Brent leads our Software Engineering Team to build, test, and deploy our platform and product suite.
Brent guides the development of our platform to use the latest technologies and proven systems and infrastructure to ensure our customers have the flexibility, efficiency, and scalability they need to achieve results.
He has been leading software engineering teams for 10+ years, after beginning his career as a software engineer himself. He has delivered multiple healthcare exchange and claims processing products for health, dental and prescription drug payers by building world-class engineering teams spanning the globe. With experience using numerous data standards on both the payer and provider sides of healthcare, Brent is passionate about interoperability, and excited to be part of the industry drive toward FHIR.
Anna leads our strategic product initiatives and team. She oversees and manages our product roadmap to advance ArborMetrix’s mission.
Anna builds products and features that empower physicians, other care providers, and patients to make data-driven decisions and gain the insights they need to improve outcomes.
Prior to her current role, she served as our Senior Solutions Architect, where she worked with teams across the organization to design and configure reports, analytics, surveys, and new features. Anna is skilled at translating business and customer requirements into actionable design specifications, resulting in product features and enhancements that move our mission and our customers forward. She received her Master’s in Health Informatics from the University of Michigan School of Information.
Rob is a technical-minded Agile delivery specialist who manages all of the tools and processes of our Software Engineering Team.
Rob ensures that ArborMetrix efficiently builds and delivers our industry-leading software. He helps cultivate a successful team environment where quality software is delivered on time, within budget, while having fun turning complex technology into simple, seamless solutions.
He has more than 10 years of experience taking product ideas from conception to completion while using Agile/Scrum software development principles.

As ArborMetrix’s marketing lead, Sara empowers ArborMetrix and our customers to achieve measurable results through focused messaging, compelling content, and brand visibility.
In addition to leading our brand and content marketing strategy, Sara works with our customers and their marketing teams as a marketing consultant, content creator, and editor to help them achieve their program objectives.
She joined ArborMetrix after serving as the marketing and communications director for a foundation of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She has previous experience working as a strategist and senior editor at Imagination, a leading content marketing agency in Chicago. Sara received her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri.
